ZDF, main news service in Germany published an article about UDC conquering the world!
On 4th of August an article about our popular websites was published by ZDF at it’s online release Heute.de.
The article introduces Uniteddogs.com and Unitedcats.com as sites connecting many cat and dog owners who love their best friends and are eager to present their loved ones all over the world!
Roxana Mendiola alias „rOcO“ tells her story of UDC becoming her lifestyle – her dogs Jerry, Whisky and Kobe receive up to eight friendship inquiries every day on the Uniteddogs.com. In the beginning, it all started out as an amusing gag but now has become an important part of her everyday life.
„I check my dogs sites more often than my own profile on other sites,“ she says. Jerry, one of her three dogs, already has more than hundred friends. For example Cocker Spaniel, Poodle, Pekingese and many other dog breeds. As well as on other online sites for people, these animal friends are also located around the world: in the USA, Europe and South America. „The dogs are delighted by the idea of their pictures on the web and they are always ready to pose for some new profile photos,“ says „rOcO“. - This is where our UDC team sends our best regards to „rOcO“ and her dogs!
The article also explaines that Uniteddogs.com and Unitedcats.com create a perfect atmosphere for users to make new friends and look for people they have something in common. „The users meet here other people who are just as crazy as themselves for their four-legged darlings,“ says our Project Manager Lauri Laineste in the article.
In addition to that extraordinary love that users have for their animals, UDC also wants to make this world a better place for everyone and this is by cooperating with shelters. As it is very important for UDC to have positive effect outside the virtual borders too. For example, on UDC’s Estonian site users can already find a database of dogs and cats who are accommodated at the shelters of Estonia. This sure is a project which UDC wants to expand to other countries in the future as well.
However, also users themselves are engaged organising so-called summer days for Uniteddogs.com users and there are many dog owners who happen to live in the nearby and decide to get together and take walks with their dogs just to let them play and get to know each other better.
The web pages Uniteddogs.com and Unitedcats.com are a part of the Estonian Internet-Start-Ups UDC that is also dealing with animal rights. In the beginning of this year there was about 20,000 pets registered on this site. This number increased five times in only six months. About one thousand four-legged friends are represented from Germany.
As UDC is working as one big happy family, we would like to say many thanks to all our users and moderators for making our sites run admirably!
